  OKTOBERFEST

Sunday 22nd October saw Si taking the opportunity to display his knees in full lederhosen style (any excuse for a silly outfit, the previous day he was dressed as Admiral Nelson to celebrate Trafalgar Day, but unfortunately we don't have the photo's to prove it!)

The first (and hopefully the first of many!) Prince of Wales Feathers Oktoberfest saw the pub decked out in Bavarian splendour, with German Pale Ale at the handpumps, and a range of bottled German beers - including EKU 28, at 11%+ one of the world's strongest brews - on offer.

Many of our regulars sported Bavarian hats, although there were disappointingly few knees on display, and practically no thigh-slapping at all!

More photo's are available on request (or indeed can be deleted forever for a small fee!), but the pictures would seem to indicate that everyone had a good time, and that some had a VERY good time! Yes, Charlie Sheldon, we have the evidence!!!!!
Adding the finishing flourish to the day were 'The Jazz Beens' a superb Dixieland Jazz band who got everyone up & dancing

SANTA's
 GROTTO
We were very lucky to be honoured by a visit from Santa on 17th December. A total of 51 children visited him to ask for a special present, and he helped us raise over £130 for CASPRA. Photo's are ready for collection at the bar.

HOLLYWOOD NEW YEAR
2007 was seen in in style with a Hollywood theme. Glamour & 'sofistikashun' were the order of the night, ably demonstrated here by Jo & Gill (admittedly some time later they were quite beyond hope of pronouncing shofphishticateded!)

BILL & HANNAH (& BAILEY'S DAVE IN THE BACKGROUND)

VERY LATE AT NIGHT & JAS IS CONVINCED HE HAS MORPHED INTO ADAM ANT (although we think he's our very own Prince Charming all year long....)

BURNS
NIGHT
Our resident scotsman, Ross, addressed the haggis in brilliant tones....

.....while entirely different tones accompanied him! Thanks a million to Dave our piper & Ross for bringing a bit of Scottish culture to the village!

Lovely Leila, a very popular member of our bar team, left us (temporarily) in January to 'dance her ass off' starring in a Liverpool show. Hopefully she'll be back with us in March, but in the meantime we wish her all the best in the spotlight

Meanwhile Don achieved success with his racehorse 'Smithy' & celebrated in his own inimitable fashion!

COMEDY
 NIGHT

3rd February saw our 2nd comedy night, with 4 fantastic comedians (and, yes, this time they WERE all funny!), a singer, compere beyond compare John Elson & the House poet, Steve Walker (for whom there was total silence - a first in a packed Prince!)

This was the full might of Knuts Comedy Club 'on tour', and everyone had a fantastic time - plus we raised over £160 for St Theresa's. Thanks everyone!!!!!

BLOND DEE

A fantastic evening's entertainment was provided by Blondie tribute band BLOND DEE. Although the duo were really talented, we're not so sure about some of the wannabees!!!

GOLD AWARD PRESENTATION 10th MAY

A bus-full of CAMRA faithfuls arrived to join our regular crowd at the presentation of our Gold Award. Presented by Dave Murray & Paul 'Bram' Brammer, the award has been given to us for ' creating a friendly local pub serving a range of high quality real ales'. Thanks to everyone who supported us on the evening, and to CAMRA for the award - it really does mean alot!

BEER FESTIVAL 11th - 13th May

The weather wasn't great, but we think our first festival was a real success - over 2,000 pints were consumed, with 'Bittern' voted the beer of the festival (special mention for Ufford 'White Hart' which was first to sell out), and Janet's Jungle Juice was top cider by a mile!

Sorry - no photo's yet. We were too busy

to take any!

If anyone's got any photo's we could include,

please email them to us. Thanks!

Not quite sure why the Peterborough Evening Telegraph decided that Si in a lurid green shirt was an appropriate way to celebrate St David's Day, but the daffs are pretty!!!
